Ordeñana Xavier
Organization: ESPAE-Graduate School of Management


Xavier Ordeñana, PhD in economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Spain), is a professor of international business and economics at ESPAE Graduate School of Management, ESPOL (Guayaquil, Ecuador). He participated in the Global Colloquium in Participant-Centered Learning at Harvard Business School. At ESPAE, he is the academic and research director (equivalent to associate dean). He has published articles on international education in outlets such as AIB Insights and Academy of Management Learning and Education. He co-authored the book “The future of education in Management in Ecuador”, a summary of national results of the research project “Rethinking Graduate Management Education in Latin America” (led by Harvard Business School). Xavier also participates in X-Culture, a global collaborative project, and GEM Ecuador (Global Entrepreneurship Monitor). His research interests include emerging markets, foreign direct investment and sovereign debt. He has directed consulting projects for Ecuadorian Government agencies such as Ministry of Production, Telecommunications, and multilateral institutions such as the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and CAF, Development Bank of Latin America.
